PROJECT PROPOSAL

Project Proposals are professional workplace documents. Companies use them to pitch new ideas to senior managers or executives, while non-profit organizations use them to apply for funding from private and public donors. You will use your project proposal to explain what you have to offer to the community service organization of your choice.

Paragraph 1: Problem Statement
1) Outline the overall problem that your project addresses.
2) Describe the exact need that you propose to fill.
3) Why are you choosing this particular community project?

Paragraph 2: Project Objectives
1) What is your goal?
2) Generally, how do you propose to fill this community need?
3) Specifically, what kind of program will you create to fill this need?
a. What is your timeframe (1 month, 6 months, 1 year, etc.)?
b. How many hours will you commit?
c. Where will you do your work?
d. Who will benefit?
4) How will your research guide your practice in this project?

Paragraph 3: Project Evaluation
1) How will you measure your progress?
2) What criteria will you use to assess if you meet your goals?
3) What do you expect will be different in the community once the project is complete?


Format:
• Project proposal should be in business letter format. It should be succinct but powerful.
